From CA to NY and Everything In Between
JUL
12Time again for the weekly update from our interns. This has been full of outreach on and offline. They are being stretched out of their comfort zones into what God has for them. Check it out:
Hi! It’s Michael. I am really excited that I have the opportunity to go on a 'business trip.' that will take me all the way from California to New York. I helped Andy set up the green screen and lighting for all of the interviews and now I'm ready to start filming. I'm thankful for the opportunity that Andy Fish, my project Director and unofficial boss, has given me to come along side him for the next 4 days and be his 'apprentice' when it comes to video production. We are shooting several different 'Changed Life Stories' including this one man who was one of the last people to get out of the World Trade Center towers safely on 9/11. I can't wait to meet these people and see the work that the Lord is doing in their life and how Global Media Outreach helped be a part of directing them to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Hey everyone, It’s Taryn! I have been having such a blast here. It truly has been a blessing to be challenged in my professional field of study all while along side that I have been growing spiritually! One of my main projects is that I’ve been busy prepping a marketing campaign. That has been a challenge for me as I am a design major and have never studied marketing–but the people here are so great, and so patient with me learning, that it has been a cool experience for me. I do get to practice my design skills in helping make the video, so I’m very excited about that as well. The fellowship between each of us interns, as well as each of us with our coworkers, has grown to be so strong. Together we know how to find the perfect balance in a solid workday as well as intertwining fun into it. God has really blessed this environment that we have been placed in, and the six of us interns couldn’t think of a better way to be spending our summer!
Salut! Sydney here. Our time at GMO is flying by so quickly! I cannot begin to convey how great it is to work for this incredible ministry. The staff is so warm and welcoming; I am reminded daily that this is not a normal work environment. For example, how many jobs have CEOs that will bake cookies for the entire office? Or take dedicate an hour each week to prayer with the entire staff? Or release you from your desk work early to participate in a community outreach? This does not even scrape the surface on the reality of interning at GMO. I have learned so much about community and unity in Christ through our activities this summer and am so thankful that God has placed me here for such a time as this.
To check out what happened in and out of the office this week, tune in at 3:30 PDT Friday to see the newest installment of "The Real Interns of Silicon Valley" and chat LIVE with the interns!
