Global Media Outreach Launches ‘Always Ready’ Church and Para-church Program
Outreach program equips churches and organizations for online evangelism
Los Gatos, Ca. (September 13, 2006) – Global Media Outreach (GMO), an Internet ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ International, announced today a new program to assist churches in equipping their members with tools to learn how to share their faith. ‘Always Ready’ provides the tools and training for churches to begin their online evangelism program:
- Training for volunteers to share their faith online using GMO’s innovative response center software
- Links through an organization’s website to 4StepsToGod.com (or another GMO evangelistic site)
As part of ‘Always Ready,’ Global Media Outreach has also launched two books authored by CEO Mark Weimer to use to share the gospel and help a new believer grow in their faith:
6 Reasons for Faith addresses the core questions of both seekers and skeptics in light of the Gospel’s truth.
6 Keys to Christian Growth addresses the core elements of spiritual growth for the new or struggling Christian.
Both books are handy, paperback size with content based on core Campus Crusade material and can be used as tools for sharing with seekers and Christians. The books may be ordered through New Life Resources at www.campuscrusade.com.
Through ‘Always Ready’, a church or organization can:
- Adopt a specific site to sponsor for gospel presentations
- Enable members to share their faith face-to-face using printed 4 Steps cards
- Give 6 Reasons for Faith books to non- believing friends, family and co-workers
- Give 6 Keys to Christian Growth books to new believers and motivate them to become online volunteers
“Campus Crusade has a history of working with churches to support missions and bring in new members, but this is the first program for equipping churches to conduct outreach over the Internet,” said Walt Wilson, founder of Global Media Outreach. “’Always Ready provides a simple way for Christians to share the gospel, tell their personal story of faith online and provide follow-up to new believers and connect them to a local church or Christian movement.”
Many people believe you have to be a missionary in a foreign country to begin reaching people for Christ outside of local churches. Today, most people know how to send emails. But not everyone can travel to foreign mission fields. Through “Always Ready,” contacts from interested seekers are delivered right to a volunteer’s computer screen.
Although many churches have their own website, very few provide a gospel presentation on the site with one-on-one response for follow-up to those who indicate a decision for Christ. The GMO response center provides a safe way for both volunteer responders and seekers to interact. By providing an online evangelism presentation on a church website with an online response system, churches can reach people for Christ in a way they never have before.
Currently, about 25 million visitors a year are surfing onto a GMO site from somewhere in the world, resulting in 100,000 inquiry emails and an amazing 250,000 decisions for Christ per year.
