    Cindy will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships as part of GMO’s vision to “Build people in their faith and connect them to Christian Community.” Brannon will also direct GMO’s Prayer Strategy, working with Global Media Outreach Chief Prayer Office Colin Millar.

    In Cindy’s prior position as GMO’s Director of Global Church Online Missions Program, she was tasked with finding and developing Church partnerships to increase the reach of sharing the gospel and recruiting volunteer online missionaries through Church partnerships. Having successfully built an organization that established more than 200 church partnerships, Cindy’s strategic direction also helped bring in thousands of volunteers as online missionaries.

    Global Media Outreach and YWAM Bring People Together via E-mail Technology

    Campbell, CA – October 4, 2012 – Today, Global Media Outreach (GMO), the leading, online mission ministry at www.globalmediaoutreach.com and Youth With A Mission International (YWAM) at www.ywam.or, announced that over 300 online Christians met in person at a first-time event in Mexico City on August 25, 2012.

    “This was the first time in history people made a decision to accept Jesus Christ online and were then able to meet face-to-face at a celebration in Mexico City,” states Walt Wilson, founder and chairman of Global Media Outreach.

    How this First-Time, Christian Event Occurred

    Six weeks prior to the event, GMO began sending e-mail invitations to Mexican residents who made a decision to accept Jesus Christ at GMO’s gospel websites such as Jesus2020.com.

    “After sending over 12,000 e-mail invitations with an average open rate of 18.49%, 500 people responded and over 300 people actually attended the event,” states Michelle Diedrich, GMO Chief Marketing Officer. “The campaign was very successful, and it is a clear example of how using technology with real, human interactions can make positive changes happen.”

    The Results Help Hundreds of New Christians

    Over 300 people of all ages attended the free event at 1:00 p.m. where they enjoyed food, drinks, games, music, preaching, and much more for over two hours.

    “By combining GMO’s technology and our connections to pastors on the ground, hundreds of people in Mexico who were once alone and online looking for answers, now know other, local Christians they can turn to for prayer, sharing and support,” states Matt Whitlock, Director of The Tribe, a ministry of YWAM international. “The celebration was a huge success, and we are making plans for more, Christian events like this worldwide.”

    Millions visit Christian community to join, pray and receive encouragement

    Global Media Outreach Launches Live Discipleship Broadcast

    CAMPBELL, Calif. — Online missions pioneer, Global Media Outreach (GMO), will launch a new interactive webcast series, YouLive, on Wednesday, June 19 at 11 a.m. PST. The weekly series will initially consist of four 30-minute live broadcasts, with a potential for more shows based on the success of the pilot series.

    The shows, airing live on GodLife.com, will be divided into teaching and response segments. During these segments, audience members will be able to interact through chat. Questions and prayer requests from chat will be addressed on air following each teaching segment.

    “The goal is that our audience will feel that they have a voice and can find answers to the things most important to them,” said Amy Weimer, head of social media for GodLife.

    The first webcast features Colin Millar, Chief Prayer Officer of GMO. Millar will teach believers how to pray for their families. Millar’s lesson is based on his personal experiences in praying for family members.

    Remaining webcasts will cover topics related to Christian living and will include live question and answer sessions on growing your relationship with Jesus.
