Evangelism In China

Picture yourself in the middle of a busy Chinese market.

There’s a sea of people everywhere you turn, rush-hour chaos fills the atmosphere and street vendors shout for your attention. Yet, there’s a silent truth resonating louder than all the noise around you. In China, sharing your faith in public is illegal.

With more than 1.3 billion people, China is the most populous country in the world, but only five percent of the population claim to be Christians.* However, statistics don’t reflect the millions who worship in the shadows. ‘House churches’ are the place of gathering for many believers who are afraid of persecution.

Living Stone Fellowship is one of them.

Through a partnership with an organization called Harvest Initiative, Global Media Outreach is able to connect an online seeker to a church on the ground in China. This joint effort brought the first 14 people to Living Stone Fellowship.

The small congregation has grown to an average of 25 to 30 members who meet on Sundays for worship and Bible study. Their hearts are being fed with God’s strength, courage and boldness for the Gospel. With this boldness comes a plan to build a church and shine God’s light to their community, like a city on a hill that cannot be hidden. (Matthew 5:14)

The world may fight the truth of God’s salvation, but thanks to your faithful support the Gospel is reaching the unlikeliest of places.“God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son...And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory " (Romans 8:28-30).

Thank you for taking action and helping connect people to churches like Living Stone Fellowship.
